My partner and I recently bought our first property, which was in desperate need of renovation, having not been changed in over 40 years. It was our first time needing an architect and we were unsure how the process worked. We approached a number of architects and found Bruno to be not only extremely informative and a great communicator, but also supportive of what we were trying to achieve given our budget. Our property is in a conservation area and article 4 zone, and most of the architect’s we spoke to seemed quite condescending about our budget as well as unsupportive of us being able to get planning permission. There were numerous challenges whilst going through the pre-planning application process, and Bruno persisted, when I am sure, many others would have given up and rose to every challenge with innovative designs. We have now submitted our planning application, with a positive letter from pre-planning and are delighted with (hopefully!) our final designs. We cannot recommend Bruno highly enough and we look forward to continue working with him as our architect. Thank you, Bruno!

We were lucky to have met Bruno. Our first architect couldn’t get us planning for the big development we are doing in central London. Bruno’s skill and design and his understanding of the planning application system enabled us to achieve what we wanted and get planning. We would definately recommend rink and we look forward to working with him on our next project.

Having bought a flat i needed extra space so I wanted to extend into the loft. I approached BPA and they developed a design for a loft conversion for me that I was very happy with. Everything was explained clearly and precisely to me about what could be achieved, any planning restrictions, the time frame involved and potential build costs that l should be aware of. Planning permission was successfully achieved for me which was a relief, given the obstacles that had to be overcome. I was very impressed with the architect’s flair for design, paying extra attention to small details that made the difference. BPA is a very professional service and value for money.

We appointed Bruno after having fired our previous architect; finding Bruno was a life-saver! Bruno is super organized, we would not have been able to meet our move in date without his help. He is extremely professional, deliverables were always provided on time, gave us great recommendations and drawings were always correct. He was able to find an aesthetically pleasant solution for all structural issues we encountered on the project. Bruno is a very pleasant person to work with, we and our builder enjoyed working with him on our home.

Bruno Paolucci Architecture has carried out several residential conversion projects for me, and has consistently delivered innovative and carefully considered solutions. His attention to detail and imaginative ways that he overcomes complex design challenges is really impressive, as is the quality and scope of the technical documentation he delivers. I will certainly use BPA again, and have no hesitation in recommending them.

We appointed Bruno as our architect for an extensive renovation of a derelict 3-storey Victorian terraced property in the heart of London. From the moment I met him, I found him to be incredibly passionate about his work. He instantly grasped my aspirations for the house and adopted a visionary approach to delivering them. He has a wealth of experience in the industry and marries this with creative flair and a keen eye for bespoke design. As a result he produced an innovative and inventive planning proposal that not only satisfied our practical living requirements and all the relevant building regulations, but also delivered a high-impact ‘wow’ factor. He was personable and responsive to deal with, and genuinely cares about his projects such that he invests his heart and soul into his work. I found him to adopt a pragmatic approach to obstacles/revisions and offer thoughtful solutions – very much a problem solver rather than problem dweller. He took full accountability for his role in the project, such that the planning application itself and liaison with other professionals (structural engineer, building control, PWS etc) was smooth and hassle-free from my perspective. Finally his drawings were meticulous and very high-quality, and the tender specification document he drafted encompassed an extraordinary level of detail so that the builders were fully primed regarding the works and materials. In fact all the tendering contractors were very complimentary regarding the tender package/plans he provided. We are now about to embark on the construction phase, and given his knowledge of and dedication to the project thus far, I have requested him to administer the project. I have no doubt that under his stewardship, the dream home he has conceived for us will become a reality. Thank you Bruno!

Bruno Paolucci Architecture did a fabulous job on my home. I had never done this before so I was pleased to be guided through every step of the process with patience and understanding. Various options and solutions were presented to me and for the garden extension and the interior overhaul which included a bathroom, kitchen dinning space and storage area. i was given lots of new design ideas for the derelict garden flat i had bought resulting in a complete makeover. I decided upon some things that i wouldn’t have dreamed of doing had l not approached BPA. The planning process was especially difficult but a clever solution meant that we achieved planning permission and we managed to get the modern design we were hoping for. I can enjoy my garden whatever the weather now that I have lots of light streaming into the house from the large glazed doors. I would highly recommend this extremely talented architect, what i thought would be a painful process was made far less painless and the result is a home I am proud of.

We engaged Bruno to design a side return extension for our Victorian London terrace house. Bruno came up with a fantastic design which worked really well to maximise the use of the space whilst incorporating some interesting architectural features. I was really impressed with how he worked with us to come up with a design we were entirely happy with, and would have absolutely no hesitation recommending him to others.

Bruno gave me expert detailed advice and steered me through some complex and tough decisions when dealing with an extension. His extensive expertise was welcome when navigating complex planning problems.

Anne Rowe , Project Date 2018-2019

Bruno designed and managed a rear extension to my house in Hackney. He came up with a detailed design and brief for the builder, was punctual, dealt with any problems promptly and was very helpful. Although I started planning with him 2 years before I started the project he did not increase the agreed fee. My new living space is great and I highly recommend Bruno.

Bruno is fabulous and was a key part of a build / renovation project in Highbury N5 that we started back in 2007 and completed in 2010. What started as a casual conversation at the school gates took a ‘grand design’ idea to a project where we renovated a terraced house from the inside out. Bruno took us through initial ideas and guided us through the finances and budget for such a project before we asked him to be the architect. He took us through a complex planning permission process adapting the design to meet the points from our neighbours and then handed back to us to project manage. During the build, we had a number of issues and Bruno was always at hand to when we needed him on the phone, on email and in person where needed. Bruno was a calm voice advising us and our contractor though all the ups and downs of the project. The logistics of the project fade away and almost ten years on, we have a house that suits our needs perfectly. We have a range of spaces that have adjusted to demands of family life, with both important communal space and then quieter space for each of us. We really value these spaces, the light across the rooms and the small details in the design that make the house a home. And, over the last ten years, our neighbours have appreciated the details and adjustments made to the original plans. We couldn’t ask for more.

Chris Tsen , Project Date 2007-2010

Bruno dealt with this project from the design right through to the build on site for us. We purchased a derelict mid terrace late Georgian/ early Victorian property in London WC1 with a view to initially create a single floor shop unit and develop the upper parts into living accommodation. For the shop unit, Bruno managed to exceed our initial expectations by including a basement extension, introducing access from the street to the basement floor by way of a traditional light well with stair, and thus doubling the floor space for the shop unit. This also increased our floor area and improved the rental value for the shop unit. 2 high quality apartments above the shop unit, laid out over 3 floors were also approved by the planners. The property was in such a poor state that the entire original building, including the roof, front and rear facades as well as all interiors had to be demolished and re built. The front elevation was carefully re built and remoddelled to the original traditional ‘look’ too, which we were very happy with. Bruno dealt with a difficult project on site and got on well with the builder and various sub-contractors. He always kept us informed of cost issues as well as site matters and problems. He dealt with the building control issues and liaised with the party wall surveyors too (we had 7!) and made what would have been a very stressful experience incredibly bearable. The budget was tight for us but he still managed to get what we regard as a high quality finish. We are a small developers and this remains one of our most prized properties in our portfolio, we were really pleased. I can only thank him still for this. We would recommend him to anyone and in fact asked him to do 2 subsequent projects for us.
